Today is the International Energy Saving Day, organized annually since 2005 to spread the culture of environmental sustainability and resource saving.
The event is held in order to promote the culture of energy saving and resource saving through the reduction of waste, the implementation of sharing actions and the diffusion of sustainable lifestyles.
This year too, SEA, the management company of Milan's airports, which is increasingly sensitive to the issue of sustainability, will make a symbolic gesture in relation to energy saving.
Today, in the time slot from 7pm to 8pm, lighting will be reduced in some areas of the two airports of Milan Linate and Malpensa; in particular at Linate the lighting of the external façade of the terminal will be reduced and at Malpensa the lighting of the areas inside the terminal in the "Landside" areas will be reduced.
Furthermore, in the time slot from 5pm to 6pm, the internal ventilation of the Terminals will be reduced at both airports managed by SEA with a consequent reduction in energy consumption.
These interventions, obviously symbolic, are estimated to reduce daily airport consumption by approximately 500 kWh.
