Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games Service Enhancement
On the occasion of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games, significant enhancements to the rail service are planned:
From January 23, the RE51 Milan Central Station – Malpensa Airport line will be upgraded and extended to Gallarate, while continuing to serve Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Connections every 30 minutes between Malpensa and Gallarate. Travel times: 8 minutes to T2 and 15 minutes to T1.
First departure from Milan Central Station at 4:55, last departure at 23:25
From January 23 to February 25, trains on the Milan Central–Malpensa Airport route will operate with extended service hours in the early morning and late evening. In particular:

From Milan Central to Malpensa T2: first train at 4:55, last train around 2:25

From Malpensa T2 to Milan Central: first train at 5:37, last train at 2:37
From February 7 to March 15, on Saturdays and Sundays only, two additional high-speed (AV) services will operate on the Trieste–Milan Central–Malpensa Airport T2 route, with two daytime round trips per day.
In particular:

The train departing from Malpensa Airport T2 at 11:37 will arrive at Venice Santa Lucia at 15:12

The Frecciarossa departing from Udine at 6:15 will arrive at Malpensa Airport T2 at 11:22, with intermediate stops along the Milan–Venice corridor

From February 5 to February 22, 2026, the TILO S50 rail service will offer two special Milan–Bellinzona connections, departing at 23:43 and 00:43.
On Sunday–Monday nights, these services will operate only as far as Mendrisio.

From Milano Centrale to MXP T1-T2, the Malpensa Express runs from 5:25 AM to 11:25 PM every 30 minutes, with intermediate stops at Milano Porta Garibaldi, Milano Bovisa Politecnico, Saronno, Rescaldina, Castellanza, Busto Arsizio, and Ferno/Lonate Pozzolo.
From MXP T1-T2 to Milano Centrale, the Malpensa Express runs from 5:09 AM to 10:09 PM every 30 minutes, with intermediate stops at Ferno/Lonate Pozzolo, Busto Arsizio, Castellanza, Rescaldina, Saronno, Milano Bovisa Politecnico, and Milano Porta Garibaldi.
